I think you can set it to run at boot and restore the desktop, but I find Windows messes the desktop only sometimes, so I run it as required. You can save the desktop layout (or save any number of configurations) and can restore the chosen configuration when Windows decides to screw it up. I couldn't see a program that locked them in position. I have tried every combination of selections in the the 'View' right click options. Just finishing setting up my new laptop but there are two desktop icons that keep moving to a different position after each boot. ![]()
